Dear Families and Friends,
In an ideal world, the City and the State fund our schools for everything our students need to learn and thrive. But we all know that is not the reality. So each year we ask our families and friends to fill the gap.
There are four ways you can help our students. We want all families to do a little bit of all four but if you can only do one or two, it is still a huge help!
Four Ways to Give to BCCHS:
1. Direct Drive
We consider this the most important way for families to give. This is also our biggest fundraiser. The money you contribute is fully tax deductible and the PTA (you are a member!) decides how to spend it. That means the whole school benefits from money raised through the Direct Drive.
This year we are asking each family to contribute $750. However, we value 100% participation and any amount, however small, is deeply appreciated. You can contribute any time of the year and as frequently as you wish. Some people have set up an automatic monthly payment via PayPal.

2. Supply Drives
We frequently run supply drives and ask families to bring in supplies needed by the whole school. You need not bring them in person. Many families order online and have them delivered directly to the school.

Frequent supplies are:
- Printer paper
- White Board Eraser
- Post-Its
- Pens
- Index Cards
- Greenworks Wipes (must be this brand)
- Scotch Tape
- Tissues
- Purell Hand Sanitizer

3. Donors Choose
Sometimes teachers have specific items they need for their courses and use Donors Choose to raise funds to purchase them. Because Donors Choose is a web-based fundraiser it is a good way to tap people from outside the school community. Perhaps your colleagues from work might want to help students in a public school. Grandparents and other relatives might also be good candidates for Donors Choose. Of course you can contribute yourself whether your child is in the teacher’s class or not!
4. Volunteer
There are times when we need human power at events like our Open House or High School Fair or the Parent Social Cocktail Party. Even an hour of volunteering can be a huge help. Please look for volunteering opportunities in the PTA e-newsletters. To sign up for these e-newsletters, click here
